Optima - Special Enrollment Period extended to April 15
Optima Health remains
committed to our customers impacted by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). We
announced last week that we will provide fully insured groups with the option
to offer a special enrollment period (SEP) for employees who previously did not
elect to enroll in coverage at the time of their employer's open enrollment.
This group SEP has now been extended to April 15, 2020 and is available for Small Group, Mid-Market and Large Group customers with coverage effective on or after April 1, 2020. Members that enroll during the SEP will have an April 1 coverage effective date.
Optima Health will rely on self-funded employers to make decisions on SEPs. This includes choosing to follow the Optima Health policy for fully insured special enrollment.
